This weekend I was honored to attend the East Kingdom Bardic Champions and Barony of L’ile du Dragon Dormant Baronial Investiture.
Eight competitors vied for the opportunity to be named as the Sovereign’s Bard for the upcoming year with the just-retired Baron winning the honor. The Consort’s Bard was also chosen from among the finalists. The multiple rounds of performances included stories, instrumental pieces, songs, and theatrical pieces and they were all delightful. The Middle Kingdom even featured in a few for good or for ill.
I wish to thank Their Majesties East, Their Highnesses East, and the newly installed Baronesses for the kind and warm welcome and for a wonderful day spent in the gentler pursuits of our Society.
