Tournament of Arts

This weekend we were privileged to witness the skills and talents of just some of the many talented artisans in the Middle Kingdom. Dame Lote and her team as well as the event staff presented a tremendously well-run event. Dame Lote’s infectious exuberance begat the largest TOA since its inception and we can only hope that it continues to grow. (Keep an eye out for the announcement of the next one!)

Excitement and delight were on display when His Highness Ivan’s squire, Valya Abnikova Doch, was placed on vigil for the Order of the Laurel. We also had the honor of witnessing the elevation of Mistress Marjorie to the Order of the Laurel for her bead making as well as Countess Serena to the Order of the Pelican for her significant contributions to the A&S community.

On a personal note, we had the opportunity to spend time with friends from near and far both at the event and after with part of our chosen family. Having the chance to talk with one another and make new and reinforce old friendships is one of the best parts of this life.
